Again what a surprise! You will be very pleased to discover Mamie’s, an authentic french creperie in central London, near Coven Garden.
The place is amazing with an open kitchen through which you can see the chef making the crepes in front of you, a nice smell of fresh and tasty ingredients in the air.
The restaurant is decorated with taste, wood furniture, hanging plants, candles to make the atmosphere cosy and welcoming. The place also has a counter and a big friendly table on the ground floor, a nice cosy space with comfy seats on the first floor.
The staff is very friendly and careful. We had the pleasure to meet their community manager, Loic, a small fish in a bowl.
The restaurant is high-tech and modern as you can take the order yourself on a small tablet and send it directly to the kitchen. You have plenty of choices between savoury crepes, tapas or salads and sweet crepes. You can also try the crepes with delicious cider from Normandy (or Britain).
We have tried La Forest Complete with delicious caramelised onions, ham, cheese and garlic sauteed mushrooms and La Baudelaire with caramelised onions, grain mustard and Toulouse sausage served with salad. The crepes were incredibly perfect and crusty….
We tried the Normandy cider and ended the diner with a sweet crepe, la Magritte, with homemade chantilly, home-cooked apples, grilled almonds, salted caramel butter and vanilla ice cream.
It was delicious! I just want to say this experience was memorable and I want to go there again as soon as I can.
